Lincolnton GA Little Roy & Lizzy Bluegrass

29 April.  Nice trip on back roads (mostly 4 lane!) from Brunswick, GA to Lincolnton, GA. It amazes us as how nice the back roads are. They hark back to when US1 and US 301 were THE roads. We love seeing the small towns.

We're staying at the fabulous Elijah Clark State Park, site 74. Beautiful views of the lake. This a new favorite campground. Georgia has some fantastic state parks.

We're here for the 7th annual Little Roy (Lewis) and Lizzy Bluegrass festival. LINK. Little Roy is from the famous Lewis Family gospel group LINK.

He's the last of a huge clan than is still touring. It was a great show in great surroundings. Even Ricky Skaggs did 2 sets!!!!

Lincolnton is a small, charming, 1 stop light town. We loved it. Drove by the Lewis Family homestead.

We've already reserved our campsite for next year.
